Our tour will start with an in-depth exploration of the famous Drouhin cellars which were successfully used to hide bottles from the Weinführer during WW2 and were also the stage of Maurices great escape of the German Army in 1944.
 We will follow in Maurice Drouhins footsteps as he managed to escape the grips of the Gestapo to find sanctuary in the Hospices de Beaune . 
 We will then be granted special access to the Hospices de Beaune themselves where we will see the room where Maurice managed to hide for 3 months. 
 The tour will finish in style with a tasting of 5 Joseph Drouhin wines , including the very limited Cuvée "Maurice Drouhin" from the Hospices de Beaune .

The tasting will take place as follows (60€ per person):
*Historical overview of Maison Drouhin from 1880 to nowadays, (cellars' visit is not included)
**First of all, we will taste 3 whites wines: you will assign each of these wines to one region and one of the Appellation levels: regional, village, premier cru or grand cru. 
***We will then taste 3 red wines
****We will debrief with a seventh wine, comments and analysis of the wines.

For this experience we have selected a few of our world-famous French cheeses (100 % Burgundian of course!) and we matched them with a selection of delicious red & white wines from our cellars.
Before we tuck in, we will wander through the depths of our XIIIth and XVth century cellars & explain the fascinating story of the Joseph Drouhin family.
Cheeses are made from cow's milk except one from goat's milk.
