Beaune, capital of Burgundy wines, is known for its rich history, gastronomy, the famous Hospices de Beaune, and the renowned wine Houses with their extensive underground cellars.

For over 160 years, all eyes have been on Beaune during its famous Hospices Wine Auction, which remains the largest wine auction in the world. With its 413 hectares of vineyards, Beaune has been the reference wine of the Dukes of Burgundy and the Canons of Beaune.

While white wines are more confidential, with only 44 hectares, they still shine on certain suitable terroirs. Today, Maison Joseph Drouhin is fortunate to own over 20 hectares in this historic appellation, including some emblematic terroirs such as Clos des Mouches and Grèves.

During this tasting, you will explore Beaune through the lens of the 2020 vintage, featuring a selection of six wines:

Blind tasting is a playful exercise that reveals the true characteristics of a wine. Perhaps we will be able to guess the appellation or even the vintage... There are beautiful surprises awaiting us. We will discover that we should always trust our senses, as they are sharper than we think!

On the occasion of the 163th Hospices de Beaune wine auction festival, we are pleased to propose you the first « Dukes' Paulée », taking place in the ancient Burgundy Dukes and France Kings' cellar. The « Paulée », wine auction's symbol, is a synonyme of sharing and conviviality. It's simple : we are in charge of the aperitif and the dinner. You will bring one or several of your nice bottles, so we will share together ! This year, it will be a musical atmosphere thanks to the participation of the New Orleans jazz group « little treme » where Charleston sounds would be lively !

- This event is limited to 44 persons

06 :00 p.m : Rendez-vous at the Oenotheque - place du général Leclerc, in front of the Church Notre-Dame. Welcome toast, followed by the cellars tour and the tasting of « cuvée Maurice Drouhin » in Beaune Premier Cru from the Hospices de Beaune, by the barrel.

08 :00 p.m : Dinner served into the old Parliament cellars.

- Scallop skewers with Thai herbs. Soft Polenta with black olives
